Signs of Heartworm infection:

  • A distended abdomen (in advanced cases)

Signs of fleas infection:

  • Excessive scratching, biting, or licking.
  • Red, irritated skin.
  • Flea dirt (tiny black specks resembling pepper) on the pet's fur or skin
